This 77mm Essentials Kit offers the most popular MCS Filters in 77mm with step-rings to 58mm. The New Magnetic Control System (MCS) by Tiffen is an elegantly simple way to harness magnetic power to swiftly and securely attach Tiffen filters to lenses’ fronts.
Developed to eliminate the hassle of threading filters on and off, while maintaining a safe and positive lock, MCS makes installation and removal lightning-fast. Each MCS Filter is supplied with the lens and dust cap, with 77mm adapter ring.

Variable ND

The MCS Variable ND is both threaded and MCS compatible. It offers 1.5 to 10-stop (the widest range on the market) of neutral density, plus it has a HQ Multi Coating.

The Variable ND filter offers a way to maintain control over depth of field and create special effects. The density eliminates the need to carry several individual filters. The heavier the density, the longer the exposure, allowing for movement effects like blurred water or streaking car lights in traffic. The filter also allows users to access wider apertures in bright lighting conditions.

Circular Polarizer

Polarizing filters absorb rays of sunlight and can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast.

The Tiffen Multicoated Circular Polarizer Filter is a protective filter made to guard lenses from damage. It features multicoating to protect against breakage, scratches, humidity, and dust. The multicoating also has anti-reflective properties for optimal light transmittance to render crisp images without color shift.

Black Pro-Mist

It is easy to see why the Black Pro-Mists have been such a success for over the past 30 or so years. Its unique layering of contrast combined with a gauzy paint like halation, function as a twist on the stand of the pro halation spill effect. Even at its lowest density, it delivers an effective and increase in the halation which adds a pleasing depth of warmth, but is not transported to the skin tone values. These characteristics will become more apparent when you use densities of 1 quarter and above.

In the heavier densities the spill is quite aggressive from the practical light, with the warm tone becoming more apparent. Yet the subtle but effective look still continues to make the pro mist filter a staple filter for many cinematographers in the digital world.
