Next generation global shutter sensor

Komodo-X features a completely overhauled sensor architecture, with updated pixel design and improvements in both detail and color in shadows.

Komodo-x carries on the legacy of a shockingly small form factor, but now with more advanced i/o options, allowing for more professional monitoring, cabling and powering, as well as expanded remote capabilities like red connect.

Expanded I/O array

The enhanced komodo-x platform advances capabilities for monitoring, audio, and livestream connections.

With key improvements for professional workflows, the Komodo-X now shares many features with the DSMC3 line while still maintaining the impressively small Komodo form factor. An integrated micro V-Lock allows for direct attachment of professional micro V-Lock batteries without the need for adapters and is also compatible with the upcoming RED Pro I/O Module to provide auxiliary power and compatibility with full sized V-Lock batteries.

Locking RF mount

The flexible and powerful rf mount system now features new locking mechanism for additional rigidity and peace of mind.

A reinforced RF lens mount with locking mechanism maintains the flexibility of toolless switching between multiple lens mount types, while providing the stability and rigidity professionals need. Komodo-X is also fully compatible with /i PL lenses using the RED RF to PL Adapter.

CF Express

Interface expansion

Komodo-X offers robust and powerful systems, with USB Type-C interfaces, ethernet offload capabilities, timecode and genlock compatibility and more.

12G SDI, full sized DC-IN, USB Type-C, and a phantom powered locking audio connector further enables Komodo-X to seamlessly integrate into any professional workflow. Komodo-X is compatible with DSMC3 RED 5-Pin to Single 3.5mm Adapter to support existing Komodo microphones, or the DSMC3 RED 5-Pin to Dual XLR Adapter for general purpose XLR microphones.

DSMC3 touch monitor support

Monitor and control the camera using the direct attach 7” DSMC3 touch LCD, leaving the SDI available for wireless transmitters or other monitors.

An integrated 2.9” LCD allows for simplified control and image preview in compact setups. For more precise monitoring, Komodo-X supports the DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD which provides a daylight viewable, high-resolution, camera top monitor and control solution without the mess of cables.
